Poole Although on the sea Poole is far more residential than tourist orientated. Its neighbour, Bournemouth, seems a million miles away. Having mile after mile (nearly 100 miles) of natural harbours and inlets Poole is big on yachts. Out to sea is the beautiful and secluded nature reserve of Brownsea Island. It has a prosperous industrial zone and an old town with an historic harbour.
